Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) has announced that the company's retail sales last February 2015 increased by 28-percent as compared from the same period of last year.
TMP registered a total of 8,870 units sold last month which marks the company's highest February sales to date. The positive sales performance of TMP was driven by the Vios with a total of 2,012 units sold. The company's February sales were further reinforced by the Fortuner, Innova, Wigo, Hilux, Avanza and Corolla Altis.
In a statement, TMP President Mr. Michinobu Sugata said that the brand's positive sales is due to the market's positive outlook.
“Toyota experienced positive sales in just the start of the year due to the market’s positive outlook. This year, the industry is forecasted to remain favourable in terms of sales growth. With that, we can expect that this trend will remain as the Philippines shows improvement in its economy and specifically the automotive industry,” said Sugata.
On the other hand, Toyota’s luxury brand, Lexus, recorded 60 units last month. Leading the pack are its newly launched luxury compact cross-over, the NX and its best-selling luxury sedan, the IS. All in all, this is Lexus’s highest year-to-date (YTD) sales since 2009.
