New Toyota Prado features aesthetic and safety upgrades
The Toyota Prado gets another facelift for 2014, an update that runs alongside the new Lexus GX 460.
At first glance, the SUV’s refreshed look includes ‘tear drop’ headlights with daytime running lights, a more pronounced evolution of its chrome grille, and a vertical two-step construction that accentuates a rugged appearance.
The new Prado features a consolidated center console switch panel for a better control of the off-road system. A 4.2” color TFT multi-information screen further enhances the off-road experience by providing a new angle gauge, traction control operation for each wheel, and differential lock operation screens.
Updates to both the front independent double wishbone and rear four-link with lateral rod suspension. The new Prado may also be equipped with the electronically modulated Kinetic Dynamic Suspension System (KDSS) to further improve handling stability and ride comfort.
Toyota has not yet released details on when this latest Prado will come to our shores. Currently, Toyota Philippines offers two variants: the 4.0 liter V6 gasoline engine with automatic transmission and the 3.0 liter turbodiesel engine with the choice of manual or automatic transmission.
