Toyota has issued another recall involving 2.87 million passenger cars globally; affected models include the Auris Hatchback, Corolla and Prius hybrid produced between April 2006 to August 2015. The recalls covers a possible fault of the vehicles' evaporative emissions control units.

The automaker said that they discovered that the specific evaporative emissions control units installed in the said vehicles may crack which could expand over time and lead to the fuel leaks.

Earlier today, the Japanese automaker recalled about 1.43 million cars involving the Toyota Prius and Lexus CT200h for airbag inflator issues.
