After last week's leak, Toyota has released a teaser video for its popular MPV, the Innova. As is typical with teaser promos, the car isn't fully revealed.
The image, however, confirms the 2016 Innova's new face. It features sleek, wraparound headlights, a 2-bar chrome grill, sculpted hood and a new bumper with reshaped foglights.
Last week, the supposedly leaked brochure showed that the 2016 Innova will have at least three variants, the G, the V and the new top-spec Q. In Indonesia at least, the range starts off with the G model, with a driving mode selector with ECO and POWER modes, a glove box with a cooler, manual mode for automatic models, 3 airbags, and ISOFIX seats.
The V adds an 8-inch monitor with HDMI, DLNA, bluetooth connectivity, and voice command to name a few. The V model also adds ambient lighting and airconditioning for the second row occupants. The top-spec Q gets gets LED headlights with projector lenses, as well as an emergency brake signal for the tail lights. Exclusive for the Q version is a smart key system. Other extras in the Q model include faux wood trim, one-touch up and down power windows for all sides, and seven airbags. It also gets more safety kit such as vehicle stability control and hill assist control.
According to the previous leak, the new diesel Innovas are powered by the new 2GD-FTV engine which is currently used in the all-new Hilux and the recently revealed 2016 Fortuner. The gas line-up carries over the 1TR-FE engine. Both are available with a new intelligent 5-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic.
