Ahead of the pack
This 2011, Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) is poised to win its 10th triple crown after regaining the number 1 position YTD across all vehicle segments, based on August CAMPI results. Toyota has sold a total of 34,190 units for the year garnering 36.7% of the total market maintaining its strong Number 1 position in the industry. This was evident in the CAMPI results last month where Toyota achieved its highest market share for the year on each of the vehicle segments.
For the month of August, Toyota has again outperformed the competition with 4,832 vehicles sold and recorded its highest market share for the year of 41.8%. This also holds true on their Passenger Car and Commercial Vehicle performance where they outperformed themselves and recorded the highest percentage share for year on each of the 2 segments.
The passenger car segment continues to be dominated by Toyota with total sales of 1,734 units holding 43.1% of the market. Total Vios sales for the month registered 1,365 units further widening its lead as the country's best selling vehicle.
"The improved performance of Toyota can be attributed to the joint sales efforts and hard work of all our Dealers and Team Members towards the achievement of our goal," said Mr. Michinobu Sugata, TMP President. "The resumption of full production output of our locally manufactured Vios and Innova was one of the major factors in helping TMP regain the year to date lead across all vehicle categories."
"I am definitely pleased that we are ahead in our plans and that we are poised to achieve our 10th consecutive triple crown this year," concluded Mr. Sugata.
