Toyota Motor Corporation unveiled the exterior design and Japan pricing of the hydrogen fuel cell sedan (FCV). The automaker says the FCV will be launched in Japan by April 2015.

Toyota says the FCV is priced at approximately 7 million yen (around PHP 3.017 million) in Japan, while U.S. and Europe prices have not yet been decided.

Aside from the exterior design, the Japanese automaker has not yet released further information about the FCV such as specifications and powertrain details.

First unveiled as a concept at the 2013 Tokyo Motor Show, the FCV is designed towards Toyota’s commitment to environment-friendly vehicles that are based on three basic principles: "embracing diverse energy sources; developing efficient, low-emission vehicles; and driving real and positive environmental change by popularizing these vehicles."

Toyota has been developing fuel cell vehicles for more than 20 years.  With this, the automaker says the FCV features a performance similar to a gasoline engine vehicle.  According to Toyota, the FCV has a cruising range of about 700 km and has an estimated refuelling time of three minutes.
