The Lexus LC, in particular the new convertible variant, is already one of the most stylish models you can buy from the Japanese luxury marque today. But, if you ever felt like it was lacking in the styling department, then TRD has you covered. Toyota’s in-house tuner has just released a bunch of cosmetic upgrades for Lexus’ flagship model including three different sets of wheels.
Starting with the exterior pieces, TRD offers a three-piece wraparound kit comprised of a front spoiler, side skirt, and rear diffuser with rear side spoiler. The in-house tuner also offers two different rear wing designs, one being a subtle lip spoiler and the other a larger swan-neck spoiler.
Interestingly, they also offer an “aerodynamic mirror cover” as part of the complete kit. The wraparound complete kit including the mirror cover retails for JPY 446,000 (Php 210,000). Meanwhile, the optional ducktail spoiler and swan-neck wing costs JPY 90,000 (Php 42,000) and JPY 450,000 (Php 212,000), respectively.
LC convertible owners can order the TRD “Aerodynamic Cowling”, which extends over to the front headrest, giving the LC a sportier look with the roof down. Aside from looking good, it also reduces the effect of unpleasant wind when driving with the top down. This cowling is the most expensive piece in the catalog as it costs JPY 1 million (Php 470,000).
Possibly the best-looking upgrades offered by TRD are the wheels. Toyota’s in-house tuner offers three-different 21-inch forged aluminum wheels for the LC all of which measure in 21x8.5 in the front and 21x9.5 in the rear. As good as they look, they are also some of the most expensive items on the TRD catalog. The Diamond Gray Metallic and Ice Black units cost JPY 684,000 (Php 322,000). Meanwhile, the multi-spoke unit finished in Lunanium Gun Metallic retails for JPY 709,500 (Php 334,000).
Despite the subtle design of all the optional pieces, TRD says these parts will help make the airflow smoother over the LC’s body. In turn, it will improve fuel consumption and improve driving performance. At the same time, it also reduces wind noise making it more comfortable while on the road. Other TRD bits for the Lexus LC include performance dampers which supposedly improve handling.
Needless to say, the TRD parts for the LC are not cheap. But considering the price of the car, these are the closest to OEM+ upgrades you can get. Better yet, it will help your LC standout from the rest.
