If you still happen to encounter huge trucks along major thoroughfares in Metro Manila, these may be units that are exempted from the regular truck ban.

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) is reminding motorists that specific trucks are allowed to travel even during truck ban hours provided that participate in the Terminal Appointment Booking System (TABS) as per agreement with the Inter-Agency Council on Traffic (I-ACT).

Otherwise, non-TABS-registered trucks will have to observe the truck ban hours of 6AM to 10AM and 5PM to 10PM daily except Sunday and holidays all around Metro Manila.

TABS is an electronic platform for booking containers in the major international ports of Manila that ensures a more organized flow of containers in and out of cargo areas at the Manila International Container Terminal (MICT) and Asian Terminals Inc. (ATI) while also providing a real-time and online tracking system.

Meanwhile, the MMDA will continue to implement the One Truck Lane Policy along C-5, Katipunan Avenue, Congressional Road, Mindanao Avenue and R-10.

Truck ban exemptions are issued by the MMDA to trucks travelling in and out of Metro Manila.
