The Pontificum Consilium De Communicationibus Socialibus (PCCS), the official communications bureau of the Vatican State, has just released an image of the popemobile that Pope Francis will be riding in for his 2015 Papal Visit to the Philippines.
Based on the photo, the Pope will be riding aboard a special 'jeepney' for his visit to Manila. The 2015 popemobile is finished in white and features an elevated rear deck and seats for the Pontiff.
The white jeepney is relatively open as the Pope specifically asked to do away with security measures such as bulletproof glass.
The popemobile that Pope John Paul II rode back in 1995 for the World Youth Day was built by CTK Incorporated.
Pope Francis will arrive on January 15 for a 5-day Apostolic Visit. He will also visit Leyte, the region that was struck hard by Typhoon Haiyan/Yolanda.
