Volkswagen realigns management strategy, adopts new official language
Volkswagen Group plans to realign development of its management to make a more diverse and international company, it has announced that English will become its official language.
"Diversity and international experience will be more important for management than ever before. We will promote a culture of discussion and decision-making, accept that errors are made, support self-correction, strengthen entrepreneurial thinking and action, encourage agility and reinforce overarching cooperation throughout the Group," said Dr. Karlheinz Blessing, Member of the Board of Management of Volkswagen Aktiengesellschaft responsible for Human Resources.
Volkswagen claims that with English as the group language, they intend to cultivate internationality, diversity and a change of perspective, along with enhancing access to the top management level for international top performers as well as cooperation among the top managers. The company expects to fully transition to English by the end of 2021.
Also, the company said that they will be looking for managers with a broader experience in the future. Meanwhile, the main priority will be given to foreign assignments and knowledge gained from different business areas and brands.
