Volkswagen Philippines has introduced a new variant of the Golf GTS. Dubbed the Highline, it retains most of the features seen in the Business Edition + model but at a lower price. This new variant of the Golf GTS also complements a new Jetta model, also called the Highline.
For 2018, the Golf GTS Highline is equipped with Bi-Xenon headlamps with LED daytime running lights; fog lamps with static cornering lights; front wiper with rain sensor; electrically adjustable heated side mirrors with side turn lights for its exterior. These models are also equipped with “Keyless-Go” entry/exit with Safelock.
Inside, drivers are greeted by a two-way power adjustable backrest and manual lumbar front seats, along with a leather-trimmed three-spoke steering wheel. Also standard is the multifunction display which shows relevant information such as fuel consumption and average speed. Last but not least are steering wheel-mounted controls for cruise control, radio and telephone functions.
At the center of the dash is a 6.5-inch touchscreen VW calls Composition Media. The infotainment system includes radio, CD, MP3 and Aux-in, along with Bluetooth connectivity and voice control. App Connect is standard which includes smartphone pairing systems such as MirrorLink, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Sound is then channeled via the Fender sound system with 8 speakers and a subwoofer.
Under the hood of the Golf GTS Highline is the familiar 2.0-liter TDI (Turbo Direct Injection) diesel which powers a wide variety of Volkswagen Group products. Power is rated at 150 PS with torque at 340 Nm. It then shifts via a six-speed dual-clutch transmission with paddle shifters for manual control.
Prices for the Volkswagen Golf GTS Highline starts at Php 1,340,000. This price will be retained until pre-excise tax stocks last.
