Volkswagen aiming to be country's top European brand by end of the year
Volkswagen Philippines is off to a strong start this year, reporting a 133 percent year-on-year increase as of the first half of 2017. With that, Volkswagen Philippines also reports stronger sales from its product range, which starts with the Polo and is topped by the Touareg.
From January to the end of June this year, the German automaker sold a total of 556 units in the country so far. Volkswagen Philippines has more than doubled their output from last year's figure by 313 cars. Driving up Volkswagen sales in the country is the Jetta, the brand's entry in the C-segment sedan class. For the second half of the year, Volkswagen Philippines is introducing a new range of Jetta models to continue the car's strong sales.
There are two new variants added to the Jetta lineup, namely the Business Edition and Business Edition +. Both variants come standard with Bi-Xenon headlights, Adaptive Front Lighting System, LED daytime running lights, 17” Lancaster alloy wheels and sunroof. Available exterior colors for the Jetta Business Edition+ and Business Edition are Black, Platinum Gray, Toffee Brown, Cardinal Red Metallic, Reflex Silver, Blue Silk, Pure White, and Moon Rock Silver.
Inside, it is equipped with a Fender 8-speaker sound system, dual zone Climatronic air-conditioning, rain sensor, 6-way power driver seat plus lumbar adjust, leather seats, Keyless-Go with Push Start and the 5.8” Touchscreen Color Display Audio. Exclusive to the Business Edition + is Adaptive Cruise Control, Blind Spot Alert, and Front Assist with Forward Collision Warning. Powering the Jetta Business Edition and Business Edition + is a 2.0-liter TDI engine. The turbodiesel engine produces 150 PS and 340 Nm of torque and shifts via a six-speed dual-clutch transmission.
Besides the new Jetta variants, Volkswagen Philippines has also introduced the Golf GTS. This wagon is available in two variants, namely in Business Edition and Business Edition + models. Both variants are then powered by the same 2.0-liter TDI engine as seen in the Jetta.
