Swedish car manufacturer Volvo recently released a set of images of the XC90 R-Design. Volvo claims that this car is aimed at buyers who want a head-turning car that also emanates a sporty and dynamic appearance.
“R-Design is created for people with a passion for things that add spice to life. It appeals to customers that love active driving and a personal, expressive design. Every single R-Design detail is designed to contribute to the individualistic and refined expression these customers desire,” said Alain Visser, Senior Vice President, Marketing, Sales and Customer Service of Volvo Car Group.
Outside, the car features a special grill design, a front spoiler, metal window surrounds, dual exhaust pipes, silver roof rails and matt silver mirror covers. Completing the exterior look of the car is a set of 21-inch R Design alloy wheels.
Interior-wise, the car gets Countour sport seats, a perforated leather steering wheel, a gearshift knob and R-Design details placed on the seats, pedals, floor mats and illuminated tread plates. Topping it all of is an exclusive R-Design leather key remote control.
The engines available for the XC90 R-Design will be the same variants that are found on the standard model which include the diesel D4 and D5 engines that create 193 PS with 400 Nm and 228 PS with 470 Nm respectively and the T5 and T6 gasoline variants that produce 258 PS with 320 Nm and 324 PS (no Nm specified) respectively. No reports yet if the T8 hybrid plug-in that produces a total system output of 406 PS will be available for the R-Design.
