WATCH: Did Mitsubishi just tease the all-new Pajero?
After being spied last year, Mitsubishi is gearing up to reveal its newest SUV

Mitsubishi Motors is ringing in the New Year with one heck of a teaser. This comes after the Japanese automaker recently released a video that highlighted the brand’s continued involvement in motorsports, particularly in rallying. Mitsubishi even showcased the 2025 AXCR-winning Triton, which further solidified the automaker’s continued commitment to motorsports racing.
But what really caught our attention in the video is a teaser of Mitsubishi’s upcoming vehicle, and it’s quite the surprise. Although only shown for several seconds, it appears that Mitsubishi is preparing to launch its new flagship SUV.

This is not the first time we’ve seen Mitsubishi’s latest SUV, as our spy photographers managed to spot it last year being tested in Europe. Based on its size and looks, it appears the mystery vehicle is a body-on-frame SUV that features an XForce-inspired exterior. This can be seen via the signature LED daytime running lights, the stylish front grille, and the boxy exterior.
While official specifications continue to remain a mystery, it’s highly speculated that the next-generation Pajero will be based on the all-new Y63 Nissan Patrol. Since both Mitsubishi and Nissan are part of the Alliance and have been badge-engineering vehicles for each other, it comes as no surprise that Mitsubishi has been busy bringing back the Pajero nameplate.

Add the fact that Mitsubishi recently restored its first Dakar-winning Pajero from 1985, and the automaker is surely making noise for a supposedly dormant nameplate.

Don’t believe us? Check out the 60-second video above and see for yourself the mystery SUV that Mitsubishi teased near the end, and share with us what you think the automaker has in store for 2026.
