Expect a new kind of entertainment system to be fitted in future Audi models in the coming years as the automaker is set to reveal them at the 2019 Consumer Electronics Show (CES). Called the ‘Audi Immersive In-Car Entertainment’, it aims to demonstrate the limitless potential of new infotainment systems for cars in the not so distant future.

Described by Audi to deliver ‘top quality entertainment for all the senses’, the new technologies will transform an automobile into a mobile amusement park filled with the latest in in-car infotainment and features.

The company is still tight-lipped about the exact details of each system. However, they did mention that one of the main highlights will be a “special movie theater experience” inside a luxury saloon. Users will get to stream blockbuster films, as well as several TV shows while in the comfort of their automobile. Moreover, there will be new connectivity features, allowing users to connect their mobile devices onto the car’s onboard system for seamless integration and usability.

With self-driving technology slowly being introduced in production vehicles, Audi mentioned that it will serve as a key feature for their future automobiles as well. With it, this will allow users / occupants to have more free time and enjoy the amenities while the car takes them to their destination/s autonomously.

As to what models will come with the new entertainment system, we will not be surprised if Audi will put the first production systems onto their new line of e-tron electric vehicles (e-tron and e-tron GT) as they will serve as the most high-tech and cutting edge automobiles.

The 2019 CES will take place at the Las Vegas Convention Center from January 8 - January 11.
