It’s been 10 years since the Porsche Panamera first made its debut. 10 years hence, Porsche decided to make their unorthodox wagon cum touring saloon just a little bit better with the 10 Years Edition. Laden with new comfort and safety features, this commemorative iteration is packing a host of improvements.
On the outside, and exclusive to this model are 21-inch Panamera Sport Design wheels colored in satin-gloss white gold metallic. To provide better visibility at night, Porsche employed a total of 190 LEDs inside the headlight cluster.
The interior of the 10 Years Edition is finished in black partial leather. To add to the (even more) premium quality, decorative stitching in white gold finishes the upholstery. And just to remind occupants or those who see it that this is a special variant, the anniversary logo can be found on the passenger side dashboard, and on the door scuff plates.
What sets the 10 Years edition is a lot of new extras that come standard with it. The LED matrix headlights including PDLS Plus (as mentioned above), Lane Change Assist and Lane Keeping Assist with traffic sign recognition, and Park Assist including reversing camera are all part of the extended standard equipment. Inside we see the addition of a panoramic roof system, privacy glass, heated 14-way comfort seats with Porsche crest on the head restraints, the soft-close doors, digital radio and the BOSE Surround Sound system.
In the performance department, this model gets the standard adaptive three-chamber air suspension including Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) and Power Steering Plus, making the Panamera 10 models readily equipped for outstanding driving dynamics.
With a total of 4 different variants, (Panamera 4, Panamera 4 Sport Turismo, Panamera 4 E-Hybrid, and Panamera 4 E-Hybrid Sport Turismo), buyers can choose to have their special model powered by a 2.9-liter 330 PS bi-turbo engine, or combine it with a 136 PS electric motor for the E-Hybrid configurations.
With this being the 2nd generation Panamera, and with a total of 251,000 units (and counting) delivered, it seems that this particular model is strong on its heels. And if a decade’s worth of accomplishments can bring us a special edition of this caliber, we can’t wait to see what the new 3rd generation will have to offer.
