Last year, Kia unveiled the refreshed Stinger for the 2021 model year. It featured a wide array of subtle updates both inside and out. Some of those changes include dark-tinted headlights, restyled LED taillights, a new rear bumper, a bigger touchscreen infotainment screen, and even a mood lighting system.

No doubt the update made the Stinger look sleeker than before. But Kia believes they can make the sporty sedan look even better. Enter the 2022 Kia Stinger Scorpion Edition. Sporting several key upgrades over the standard model, the automaker believes that this special edition Stinger will sell out quickly.

Compared to the standard model, the Stinger Scorpion Edition features exclusive blacked-out accents. These can be seen on the side mirror caps, fender garnishes, and exhaust tips. A body-colored spoiler was also fitted on the trunk lid, again another exclusive add-on for the Scorpion Edition. Rounding up the exterior upgrades are the special 19-inch black alloy wheels.

Moving to the interior of the Scorpion Edition, it gets exclusive carbon-fiber pattern trim inside the cockpit. Kia says customers can choose between red or black Nappa leather interior.

Since the Scorpion Edition is based on the GT2 trim, this Stinger packs a 3.3-liter twin-turbo V6 engine that generates 370 PS and 510 Nm of torque. Meanwhile, an eight-speed automatic transmission sends power to wheels. Scorpion Edition owners can also choose between rear-wheel-drive or all-wheel-drive.

Will the Scorpion Edition actually be available locally? For now, it's very unlikely. Kia says it's exclusively for the US market, and it will be sold in limited batches of just 250 units per month.

Hopefully, once Kia Philippines launches the refreshed Stinger for the local market, maybe they can also bring in several examples of the Scorpion Edition. That is assuming it is still available.
