2021 Ram Power Wagon 2500 is one mean-looking pick-up truck
Ram is celebrating 75 years of the Power Wagon in a big way. After first debuting in 1945, the automaker is commemorating its 75th birthday with a special edition model. Simply called the 2021 Ram Power Wagon 75th Anniversary Edition, the pick-up truck celebrates the long-lived heritage of the 4x4 pick-up truck that has gone through a lengthy transformation from a simple workhorse to a go-anywhere hauler.
Beginning with its menacing exterior, the 75th Anniversary Edition features a black grille mesh, a Ram grille badge finished in gunmetal, tailgate graphics, and rock rails with side-step capability. It also gets headlights with Gloss Black surrounds, 17-inch painted cast-aluminum beadlock-capable wheels, and 33-inch Goodyear Wrangler tires.
Open the doors, and the Power Wagon greets its occupants with high-quality Mountain Brown leather, bucket seats, and a commemorative 'Power Wagon 75' logo and door inserts. It also comes with Gloss Black instrument panel inserts, and a dark brushed aluminum radio surround with Piano Black Silverline accents.
Providing in-car entertainment is a massive 12-inch Uconnect touchscreen system. While it comes with the usual features like Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and navigation, the system also supports Off-Road Pages which display the pick-up's current ride height, transfer case position, pitch and roll, and accessory gauges. This allows the driver to constantly monitor the status of the Power Wagon in real-time, anywhere.
Under the hood, the 75th Anniversary Power Wagon comes with a powerful 6.4-liter V8 engine. It makes 410 PS and 582 Nm of torque. Power is then sent to an eight-speed automatic transmission with selectable 4WD. It also benefits from front and rear locking differentials, and a 12,000 lbs power mounted on the front bumper.
The 2021 Ram Power Wagon is the most capable production off-road truck in the industry,” said Mike Koval Jr., Head of Ram Brand. “There are few vehicles with as long and as rich a history as the Power Wagon and, combined with our new Ram 1500 TRX, the launch of the 75th Anniversary Edition reinforces Ram Truck’s position as the off-road truck leader.”
With 75 years under its belt, the Power Wagon has truly made its mark on the pick-up truck segment. But will it be available outside of the U.S. market? Currently, Ram Philippines only offers the 1500 pick-up truck. But perhaps if you can ask nicely, they might be able to fulfill your request for a 75th Anniversary Power Wagon.
