The refreshed Mitsubishi Strada is by far one of the coolest-looking pick-up trucks in the market today. Featuring the brand's Dynamic Shield design language, the Strada now appears striking as ever, while still being utilitarian.
But for our friends over in Malaysia, they have come up with a way of making the Strada (or Triton) even more stylish. That's what Mitsubishi did with the Triton Knight, a limited edition variant of the pick-up truck that comes with a wide array of exterior and interior upgrades.
Beginning with the front fascia, it gets a new gray-coated front bumper garnish, a faux skid plate, and a hood protector. With the new exterior components in place, Mitsubishi Malaysia claims that they have made the pick-up truck have a more aggressive stance. Providing a bit of eye candy, on the other hand, are the distinct Knight Body stickers and the side window deflectors.
Inside, Mitsubishi Malaysia went for a subtler approach in dressing up the Triton Knight. It gets new door sill plates that feature the Mitsubishi branding, and exclusive red-stitched carpet mats complete with a Knight embroidery. Other than that, the Triton Knight comes with the usual features one would find on a top-of-the-line Strada. These include: automatic climate control, touchscreen audio display with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, as well as a full leather interior.
Under the hood of the Triton Knight is the familiar 2.4-liter MIVEC turbo-diesel engine. It puts out 181 PS along with 430 Nm of torque. Power is then sent to a six-speed automatic transmission and Super Select 4WD II system.
Only 120 units will be built in total and all are for the Malaysian market only. Perhaps Mitsubishi Motors Philippines can take some inspiration from the Triton Knight and make a special edition Strada for us. Who wouldn't want that as a special gift especially during the holidays?
