There's still a lot of buzz surrounding the all-new Toyota Corolla. They've launched the hatch this year, kept the manual transmission, and unveiled the wagon in the form of the Touring Sports. But what about the sedan? We mentioned earlier that the four-door Corolla will appear by February 2019 although Toyota hasn't dropped any details as to what it will be like. That is, until now.

Toyota Ireland has released some engine details surrounding the Corolla sedan and, by the looks of things, one of the choices available might just be offered in the Philippine market.

It's unlikely the 1.8-liter hybrid will be offered locally, as Toyota claims, being the more popular engine in Europe. A better possibility would be the 1.6-liter option that is non-hybrid assisted, and is also the same engine size found in the current Corolla Altis. That said, the Corolla Touring Sport does come with a 1.2-liter turbo engine or 1.8-liter and a 2.0-liter hybrid power train.

What will the 2019 Toyota Corolla sedan be like?

Styling wise, expect the Corolla sedan’s front fascia to look identical to that of its wagon and hatchback siblings. Based on the teaser image on Toyota Ireland’s website however, the Corolla sedan could have a short trunk design. The rear window doesn’t appear to be aggressively raked, giving more head room in the back. Expect the taillights to be styled similarly to that of the other variants.

Not much details have been released regarding the upcoming Toyota Corolla sedan. However, it did mention that ‘prices and grade level information for all grades of the Corolla sedan will be available from Toyota dealerships nationwide on November 17, 2018’. More so, the Corolla sedan will 'hit Irish shores on February 2019'.

It is possible that the Corolla sedan will make its debut by then since the wagon and hatchback has already been released.
