Auto Nation Group could handle JLR operations starting Q1 2018
Looks like two premium automobile brands could rise along EDSA in Greenhills.
According to inside contacts, Auto Nation Group (ANG), the company that distributes Mercedes-Benz, Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge, and even Harley-Davidson, may soon be adding two more brands to their portfolio: Jaguar and Land Rover.
By all indications, ANG has supposedly signed the paperwork with Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) and have started preparations to formally take over the operations of the two British brands in the country. Details are still being kept under close guard, but it was mentioned to AutoIndustriya.com that ANG is looking to inaugurate the new JLR dealership in Q1 2018.
Jaguar and Land Rover were previously handled by the same group that manages Ferrari, Maserati, and Aston Martin in the Philippines.
It was also relayed to us that the JLR showroom could occupy the current Jeep facility at the Auto Nation Group complex along Epifanio Delos Santos Avenue in Greenhills, San Juan.
There are strong indications that Minnie Valencia Bustamante will spearhead JLR operations in the Philippines. Bustamante was previously a high-ranking executive of Ford Philippines before moving to Auto Nation Group.
Our contacts also state that Rene Nunez of CATS Motors could also have a major role in their operations for JLR. CATS Motors was previously the distributor and dealership of M-B and CJD, but a recent restructuring resulted in a new company called Auto Nation Group and is headed by Felix Ang. CATS Motors subsequently became a part of Auto Nation Group with Rene Nunez at the helm.
