Kia Motors has announced that they will debut an X-Men themed Sorento at the 2015 Australian Open.
The X-Men themed Sorento is part of the Korean automaker's collaboration with Twentieth Century Fox Home Emtertainment to promote X-Men: Days of Future Past on Blu-ray, DVD and Digital HD as well as Kia's sponsorship of the 2015 Australian Open.
According to Kia, the X-Men themed Sorento will debut a week before the first major tennis championship of 2015 with brand ambassador Rafael Nadal revealing the vehicle. With this, Kia is inviting fans of the X-Men franchise and the Korean automaker to guess which X-Men character has inspired the vehicle's design. Those claws seen on the front seem to be a dead giveaway that Wolverine was the primary inspiration of the concept vehicle.
Moreover, Kia will release a video on its Facebook page and YouTube channel in mid-December showing Rafael Nadal teaming up with the X-Men and taking on the Sentinels (the robotic antagonists from the latest X-Men movie franchise) who are threatening the 2015 Australian Open.
The X-Men themed Sorento will be on display at Melbourne Park throughout the tournament which takes place from January 19 to February 1, 2015. Then, Kia says the vehicle will be showcased in various international motor shows.
