Lamborghini has built some of the wildest supercars we have ever seen. These include models such as the Sesto Elemento, Egoista, and the recently revealed Sian. Their latest vehicle, however, has to take the cake for being the wildest one yet – a single-seater hybrid racer concept. But, there is one big difference between it and others that came before. Almost anyone can own and drive it… well anyone that owns a PlayStation 4 and a copy of Gran Turismo Sport for that matter.
Called the Lamborghini V12 Vision Gran Turismo, it was recently revealed at the Gran Turismo Championship World Finals in Monaco. Like other Vision Gran Turismo models that came before it, however, this won’t be a vehicle that will see driving around the race track, more so on the streets. Instead, we will only get the opportunity to drive it in the virtual world of Gran Turismo Sport.
As with other Vision Gran Turismo concepts, Lamborghini has gone all-out in styling the V12 Vision Gran Turismo. In fact, it’s even hard to distinguish which exterior component act as a roof, door or whatnot. But, one can still easily see Lamborghini design cues in the model such as the Y-shape headlight and hexagonal side windows. Inside, it’s all futuristic too with a holographic display.
Despite it being a game-only vehicle, the Italian supercar builder has released some powertrain details regarding the V12 Vision GT. Powering it is a hybridized V12, similar to the one found in the Sian. For reference, the Sian has a combined output of 819 horsepower and can sprint from 0 to 100km/h in just 2.8 seconds. Expect that to be lower in the V12 Vision GT since the concept only weighs 819kg.
Expect more information about the Lamborghini V12 Vision Gran Turismo to be revealed once it debuts in the game in Spring 2020. It should also give them enough time to think of a catchier name too.
