Heading out for some quality time with your family by glamping in the great outdoors? Or are all the hotels booked for you and your significant other?
Well if you happen to need a vehicle that can also serve as your sleeping quarters, Nissan may have just what you need. Recently, the automaker released what they call 'Multibed' variants' of the Serena and the NV200 Bannet (aka Vanette).
Developed by Autech Japan, an affiliate of Nissan, the Multibed Serena and NV200 were designed to give drivers, as well as their passengers the ability to sleep anywhere while on the go (though not at the same time). While it may look stock on the outside, the inside reveals that it has a retractable bed system complete with a waterproof bed sheet as standard. It even has a headboard made from the same waterproof material which makes cleaning that much easier.
Should you need to hang some clothes or other items, both Serena and NV200 benefit from a multi-pipe rack that can be mounted on the side. There, you can hang clothes and accessories, as well as load items like fishing tools and surfboards. Aside from those, an optional table can be installed inside the vans which makes eating a bit more comfortable while you're out on a trip.
Thinking of getting one? Sadly, Nissan has no plans of making either the Serena, the NV200, and even the Multibed variants available outside of Japan. Still, you gotta hand it to Nissan for making these types of options available in vans and other people carriers. Just think of the ideas you can come up for this year's Valentine's should you have this as your daily.
