You can now order TRD parts for the 2020 Toyota Yaris

It has only been a few months since the all-new Toyota Yaris made its global debut. However, it seems TRD already has parts available for the new hatchback. Toyota’s in-house tuning division has just revealed the new parts lineup available for 2020 Yaris.

Now, if you were expecting suspension parts or any other go-fast goodies well sorry to say there are none. Like most TRD parts available today, it is mainly a styling kit that helps improve the look of the Yaris.

Despite being comprised mostly of a wraparound styling kit, the TRD parts fitted changes the styling of the Yaris completely. The front end looks a lot more aggressive with the addition of the front spoiler and the front bumper garnish.  

Moving to the side, there’s a new side skirt available together with a GR side decal. TRD also offers a sportier set of window visors as well and “aero turbulators”. If you’re wondering what the latter parts are, those are the small set of black fins attached to the front and rear bumpers. A new rear lip kit and stylish 16-inch wheels complete the TRD parts set.

Other optional bits available include a GR luggage mat, GR door handle protectors, a member brace, and a cool looking GR carbon fiber plate frame.

In Japan, the three-piece TRD aero kit (front spoiler, side skirt, rear lip) costs Yen 132,000 (Php 61,400). The most expensive option offered by TRD are the wheels which cost Yen 250,000 (Php 119,000) for a set. Add in the side decal and “aero turbulators” and you’re looking at Yen 30,000 (Php 14,000) and Yen 18,000 (Php 8,400), respectively.

At the moment, there is no word whether the TRD parts for the Yaris will be exclusively Japan only or offered elsewhere in the world. Considering there is an English version on the TRD site, it might just be a global offering. 

If you're disappointed that the TRD parts are all cosmetic, you can wait for the GR Yaris instead. The hot hatch is rally inspired, has an all-wheel drive system and will make its debut at the 2020 Tokyo Auto Salon.
