If you’re in Manila this long weekend, head on over to the SMX Convention Center for the 2012 edition of the Manila Auto Salon

Organized by TradeShow International, the 2012 Manila Auto Salon is the hottest and biggest event for car enthusiasts all over the metro and beyond; an annual event since 2009.

Staged at Halls 2-4 of the SMX Convention Center, the Manila Auto Salon brings together a huge collection of the latest tuned and custom rides from all over ranging from performance Japanese street machines, high-powered European cars and American muscle, as well as vintage rides along with tricked out off-road trucks and SUVs.

A-toy Customs showcased their latest machines, including their line of fully modified machines, such as a set of Hyundai Genesis Coupes kitted in different ways. Another wild ride from A-Toy was Nissan R35 GT-R… formed out of an R33 Nissan Skyline GT-R.

Concept One had a complete line of wheels on display, worn by various street machines, along with Carlsson on several Mercedes-Benz vehicles such as a pair of SLK roadsters. Also at the Concept One booth was a Toyota 86 and a Subaru BRZ.

Unusually, there were two rare Mazda Veilside Fortune RX-7s, one from JSK Auto Body and Auto Junction. Motul Autoplus displayed the just unveiled Subaru BRZ already equipped with KW Coilovers, Volk Racing wheels, and an Autoplus exhaust system.

199 Off Road House, Doctor G’s Car Clinic and Jeff’s Off Road (all the way from Baguio City) all showcased their newest machines made to tackle roads less –or never- travelled, with rides like a camouflaged Strada, a rescue-themed Ford F150, various Land Cruisers, Toyota HIluxes, among others. Cagayan de Oro based Trix Off-Road also came with a Jeep Wranger and Toyota Hilux sporting a less hardcore daily utility setup with Bilstein suspension.

Among the high-performance European cars, there was a supercharged Porsche 911 Carrera S by Unique Autoworks, Porsche Cayman S from newcomer DPE Wheels Philippines, a Lamborghini Murcielago, Corvettes, a pair of Toyota 86’s and widebody Nissan S13 Silvia sporting a TRA Rocket Bunny kit from FM Garage.

Over in the vintage car section was the Chrysler Imperial limousine as used by President Elpidio Quirino, as well as a pristine Cadillac Fleetwood.  Also, a Mini Cooper was stretched to limousine standards, and can be rented by any customer for a fee.

Three notable stars of the show include the 1933 Ford roadster (hot rod) immaculately restored to its full vintage glory. Another one is a Honda S2000 sporting a very rare widebody kit from Power House Amuse in Japan. Completing our choice trio is a Chevrolet Camaro with the ultra wide bodykit from Bomex, which Autobot claims to be one of only 5 so far in the world.

Of course the latest performance machines, trick rides, and other equipment were paired up with the hottest models from Manila.

AutoIndustriya.com gave racing enthusiasts an experience to remember with a full triple screen Gran Turismo 5 experience with the third AutoIndustriya.com GT5 Challenge.

The 2012 Manila Auto Salon is being held simultaneously with the 20th Defense and Sporting Arms Show in Hall 1.
