A sneak peek of the builds you'll see at the SMX Convention Center
Tradeshow International, Inc. and Motul Infiniteserv International has officially opened the 2022 Manila Auto Salon and Sport Truck Show at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City, giving aftermarket enthusiasts a glimpse of the latest styling trends and vehicle setups in the Philippines.
Whether you're a fan of fast cars or getting down and dirty with off-roading, the event is guaranteed to entertain enthusiasts of all shapes and sizes, as there are more than 100 vehicles showcased ranging from Japanese tuners, exotic supercars, and even purpose-built off-road rigs.
There are a lot of interesting builds out on the SMX Convention Center floor. Here are some of the cars you'll see once you visit the 2022 Manila Auto Salon and Sport Truck Show.
Event partner Motul Infiniteserv brought in two Japanese homologation specials from the past and present, showcasing a Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution Tommi Makinen Edition and a Toyota GR Yaris along with other tuner cars like the Integra Type R, the Civic Type R, and the Nissan GT-R supercar.
Meanwhile, Import Hookup with Second Skin Industries is in the show with a bunch of exotic supercars like the Lamborghini Huracan STO, the Ferrari 488, and the Porsche 911 GT3 tastefully wearing special liveries.
For fans of popular Honda tuner cars like the Civic, a trio of yellow EG hatches in full Mugen catalog builds were brought in the show, while just right at the back of it is Rebstoration's hot pink SFWD EG Civic placed between an EK Civic Coupe and a K-series powered EK Civic hatchback.
Moving on to rugged rigs, aftermarket 4x4 industry pioneer 199 Off-Road House was back in the show fielding a 3SGTE-powered Suzuki Jimny built to take on hardcore off-road competitions like the Rainforest Challenge and the Borneo Safari. They also displayed some of their off-road and trail-ready builds with the Hilux and Land Cruiser platforms.
The Shop Automotive and Dr. G's Car Clinic also displayed what can be done to the popular Suzuki Jimny as they transformed the small 4x4 to look like the Mercedes-Benz G wagon and the classic Ford Bronco.
Overlanding fans are growing in the country as more and more people move on from the restrictions brought on by the pandemic. And to give an idea of how to set up your campsite in style, Overland Kings has a Jeep Gladiator on display fitted with a lot of camping and tailor-made cooking equipment. Beside it is a Porsche 911 modified for glamping purposes, which the Overland Kings fitted with a cooler box in the front compartment area.
Lastly, 4x4 specialists Autobot off-road brought in an all-white armada of pickup and PPV models such as the Ranger, D-Max, Hilux, Terra, Fortuner, and the Land Cruiser Prado, complete with displays of aftermarket off-road wheels and suspension systems from multiple brands.
While it's great to look at the vehicles from your screens, nothing beats seeing the awesome builds in person. Lots of freebies and special discounts from the event exhibitors await spectators who will come by and visit the show.
