On its 9thyear, the Subic Bay Auto Show gathered about 100 of the hottest cars from Central Luzon and nearby cities for a day of car camaraderie at the Harbor Point Mall. Over 4,000 enthusiasts ogled at the differently styled cars, trucks and SUVs.
Cars started coming as early as noontime and slowly began to fill the Rizal Parking Area of Harbor Point just before 4PM when the event started welcoming spectators.
A major highlight was the Yellow Banana Minion monster truck of Dubshop which was one of the most photographed vehicles by visitors both young and old.
Local Volkswagen bus builder Militia Kulture brought in their collection of uniquely styled vans in the form of 'rat rods', panel vans and Westfalia-inspired campers. They even had a van powered by a Subaru EJ20.
One of the many participants who came all the way from Metro Manila was Driftmob who brought in a couple of their drift machines as well as a pair of Z's; a resto-mod Nissan 240Z and a Nissan 370Z.
This year's show also featured plenty of lifted pickups and SUVs as the off-road trend continues to grow across the country.
The Subic Bay Auto Show will always be known for its unique mix of cars from American, European, Japanese and Korean marques; this year was no exception. Local car enthusiast club OtoGapo showed their dominance with 25 cars to defend their 'Car Club of the Year' crown.
"We're truly grateful for the support of car enthusiasts from Olongapo and nearby provinces and cities throughout all 9 years. We hope to see you all again next year as we aim for an even better show as we celebrate our 10th anniversary. It will definitely be one for the books," said Ameer Cabahug, co-organizer of the Subic Bay Auto Show.
