The Honda Jazz Club of the Philippines opened the year with a big bang as it attracted more than 120 cars from different generations of the Honda Jazz to FitFest 2015 at Bridgestone Tire Center Alabang. It was the largest gathering of Honda Jazz owners in the Philippines composed of the Initial GD, GE Garage and GK Nation sub-groups of HJCP representing each generation.
FitFest 2015 is the largest gathering of Hondas in a single event attracting over 350 different cars (aside from the examples of the 120 Honda Jazz) with support from Honda Club of the Philippines (HCP) subgroups EF Crew, Tropang EG, EK Elites, Club Seventh Gen, Team FD, Honda CRV Philippines, Accord Tuners, Honda City Club Philippines and the Integra Boys as well as other clubs like JDMUnderground PH, Team Autoridad, ATX Group, and Civic IX PH.
The sunny afternoon event occupied nearly a kilometer long stretch of the road that was closed off to traffic specifically for FitFest. The full-day program was highlighted by an all Honda Jazz car show competition, parts and accessories vendor booths, food stands, race simulators, party with music by DJ Dertymyks, and over 250 raffle prizes for over 500 attendees.
The all Honda Jazz competition saw 35 cars styled from mild to wild and meticulously detailed vying for 20 trophies and valuable prizes. Special guests like Hisaaki Murakami of J's Racing Japan, Iann Fuentes and Bangs Garcia also attended the event. Event hosts Billy Billano, Chanel Aldalba and Lovely Ortiz kept the hundreds of guests in the loop with the numerous activities while models and car babes provided even more eye candy.
Event organizers were overwhelmed with the unexpected turnout as they only anticipated 200 cars and around 300 attendees. They decided to close the gates as the car count reached 300 and additional cars and visitors had to be accommodated by Commerce Center and nearby parking lots.
"My heartfelt thanks go to those who came to our event from different HCP members and subgroups and participants from as far as Isabela making FitFest 2015 a success. We were only expecting 200 cars to attend our gathering. By five in the afternoon, we had to refuse attendees from entering as we could no longer accommodate them," said Carlo Lee, HJCP founder and organizer of FitFest 2015.
FitFest 2015 was supported by Bridgestone, Honda Cars Alabang, Motul, J’S Racing Japan, AutoPerformance Ph - Brembo and Sabelt, Auto Junction, JDMselect, JC Car Audio, Clifford Paint and Bodykits, Hazardboy Performance Parts, J’s Backyard, VC Autoworks, Kilometer Two Makati, Hurricane Air Filters, JD Mechanics, MP33 Carwash and Autodetailing, Prosperitea, Stage21, Pioneer and media partners AutoIndustriya.com and C!
