The 2011 Lateral Drift Championship moved to the historic National Grandstand in Luneta Park, Manila for the third round of the series. Billed the GBX Cup as part of the Fast and Furious 5-movie kick-off, which also featured the Hot Summer Nights car show.
Part of the 2011 season's new format included Clark weekend events having two events. Round 2 was to be run on a more technical track nicknamed the "Tank Slapper", which required competitors to hit more clipping points bringing competition closer.
The Lateral Drift Pro-Am Championships opened its 2011 season with a new format, which puts both pro and amateur division drivers together in one field. The sun-baked Clark International Speedway was the venue for the season opener, which promised high-speed exciting drift battles.
It was track invasion at the Clark International Speedway as the 5th round of the 2010 Lateral Drift Championship made its way there along with a series of support events including Time Attack, Drag Race, Car Show, and a Miss Lateral Drift Competition.
