86-BRZ Club PH: Taking to the track for Hachi-Roku day
Spending 8/6 with enthusiasts and owners of the 86 and BRZ in the Philippines
The 86-BRZ Club Philippines recently held a special track day at Clark International Speedway in celebration of 86 Day, as part of the Toyota Gazoo Racing (TGR) Philippine Cup, which is formerly known as the TGR Vios Cup.
Serving as Toyota’s premier local racing series, the TGR Cup continues to bring the thrill of motorsports closer to Filipino fans and driving enthusiasts. In car culture, August 6 is celebrated globally as "86 Day" by Toyota enthusiasts, especially those who drive the modern Toyota 86 or the classic AE86. For any car enthusiast, the date representing the numbers "8" and "6" is symbolic.

Founded in 2013, the 86-BRZ Club Philippines is a community of like-minded car enthusiasts united by their passion for the Toyota 86 and the Subaru BRZ. Like many car clubs, its mission is to foster camaraderie and share ownership experiences.
This ranges from maintenance tips to performance modifications to help members get the most out of their cars. What truly sets the club apart, however, is its strong emphasis on organizing regular runs, allowing members to take their cars out on the road and fully enjoy the driving experience from their RWD platform.

One of the key highlights for the 86-BRZ Club Philippines is the annual celebration of 86 Day, a tradition the club has proudly upheld since its founding in 2013. Past celebrations have included memorable events such as Harvest Fort (2014), Grams BGC (2015), the Bulalo Run to Tagaytay (2016), Megatent Libis (2017 & 2018), the Breakfast Fun Run to Marilaque, and a BGC meet (2019).
The tradition was briefly interrupted during the pandemic in 2020 and 2021, but resumed stronger than ever with the BGC Meet (2023), Batangas Racing Circuit (2024), and R33 Drift San Simon, Pampanga, followed by the most recent event at Clark International Speedway (2025).

This year’s 86 Day celebration, held during the Toyota Gazoo Racing (TGR) Philippine Cup at Clark International Speedway, delivered an adrenaline-filled experience. The event featured a dedicated track day exclusively for 86-BRZ Club Philippines members, made even more memorable with none other than Toyota Motor Philippines President Masando Hashimoto joining the run behind the wheel of a GR86.

After spending an exciting weekend driving on the track, everyone is already counting down the days to next year’s 86 Day event.
