New united Honda Jazz club formed under Honda Club of the Philippines banner
The newly formed Honda Jazz Club of the Philippines officially made its debut on October 5, 2014 with Jazzapalooza at the Commerce Center roof deck in Bonifacio Global City. Now with three generations of the Honda Jazz model in the Philippines, GD, GE, and GK; enthusiasts have decided to form a unified club to put together their passion and ideas in one organization.
Headed by GE Garage co-founder Carlo Lee, the group aims to provide a venue for Jazz owners of any generation to a club where like-minded enthusiasts share ideas about tuning, maintenance and driving around with their cars.
HJCP is composed of three subgroups: Initial GD, GE Garage and GKnation; each representing a generation of the Honda Jazz.
The newly formed HJCP has nearly 100 members and is steadily growing as new members undergo stringent qualification procedures. Some of the club activities lined up are trackdays, fun runs and the upcoming 2015 FitFest, which will be the annual show and shine event for the club.
“We decided to integrate our GE Garage FitFest to HJCP because we felt it was more appropriate to share the event to the whole community to encourage members to make their cars look nice,” says Lee.
The private affair gathered over 150 Honda Jazz enthusiasts and over 120 cars in stock and styled form. Making the event even more memorable was a special visit by Mr. Hisaaki Murakami, president of J's Racing Japan; a renowned Honda tuning company. Murakami was a special guest of Lee and a business associate.
Members shared stories about their expriences, while some swapped parts at the event as well. A Gran Turismo time attack challenge sponsored by member Richard Bodestyne was also held where attendees challenged each other to clock the best virtual laptime with a Honda Jazz. Making a surprise visit to the event was actress Cristine Reyes, who is also an avid car enthusiast herself.
Jazzapalooza was supported by Bridgestone, Motul, Auto Junction, JC Car Audio, JDM Select, Hazardboy Performance, JD Mechanics, MP33 Carwash, and Honda Club of the Philippines.
