Following a teaser report about their new LMP1 car, Porsche recently released images of the 2015 919 Hybrid LMP1 race car that will compete in the 2015 FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC).

No specifics were detailed by the company about the exterior besides its black livery but Porsche described the 2015 919 Hybrid LMP1 as a 'distinct evolution of the 2014 model' and 'optimized in almost every detail'.

It is scheduled to begin an extensive testing regiment which will begin on January 18, 2015 at Abu Dhabi's Yas Marina Circuit. The January testing event also marks the 2015 motorsport season for the Porsche Team. Multiple performance and endurance tests are also scheduled to be done on the new Porsche LMP1 before its 2015 WEC debut on April 12, 2015 at Silverstone, Great Britain.

It will be powered by the same powertrain which is comprised of a turbocharged 2.0-liter V4 engine, an electric motor that drives the front wheels and two energy recovering systems. No power output ratings have been stated by Porsche.
