First 2016 Mazda MX-5 Cup is new Laguna Seca pace car
2016 MX-5 Cup car will serve as a pace car at the Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca

Mazda has revealed the first production version of the 2016 MX-5 Cup race car. Subsequently, the Japanese company announced that the said vehicle will be a pace car at the Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca.
In terms of the design, this vehicle looks similar with the track-ready MX-5 that was first previewed in last year's Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) show. As a review, the track-ready MX-5 will compete at a Global Cup Series next year which will be sanctioned by the company itself.
However, Mazda has yet to release the technical specifications of the 2016 MX-5 Cup race car. As previously reported, Mazda confirmed that the vehicle will be equipped with a 2.0-liter SkyActiv-G inline four engine.
Furthermore, Mazda has yet to announce the details of the 2016 Global Cup Series.
