Mercedes-AMG has revealed the C63 DTM race car ahead of the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show in September 15.
Based on the Mercedes-AMG C63 Coupe, the vehicle has a carbon fiber monocoque supported with a steel roll cage. On the other hand, the automaker used carbon fiber for the hood, doors and side panels.
Dimension-wise, the 2016 C63 DTM race car measures 5,010mm long, 1,950mm wide and 1,210mm tall with a wheelbase of 2,750mm.
Compared to the standard model, the 2016 C63 DTM race car has more prominent fenders, a dual vented hood and wider wheel arches. Furthermore, the vehicle comes with rear diffusers and a DTM spec wing.
The 2016 C63 DTM race car is fitted with aerodynamic modifications to the front splitter, side panels, flat bottom, front and rear diffusers as well as the wing. It is finished off with 18-inch aluminum wheels.
Powering the 2016 C63 DTM race car is a 4.0-liter V8 engine that delivers 490 PS and 500 Nm of torque. It is mated to a six-speed transverse-mounted transmission.
