Goodyear Philippines proudly announces the sponsorship of the DMF Drift Team to compete in Formula Drift Thailand 2009 to be held on November 7 and 8, before moving on to the final leg in Malaysia on December 19 to 20. The DMF Drift team, headed by David M. Feliciano, will be the first Filipino team to compete in the Formula Drift ASEAN ProAm series.

Formula DRIFT is recognized as the first official North American professional championship drifting series. Formula Drift Thailand and Malaysia marks the second and third legs of the Formula DRIFT series, following the successful staging of the Formula DRIFT ProAm Series 2009 in Singapore last July 4 - 5.
The Formula Drift Thailand 2009 will take place in Thailand's first ever drifting ground of international standards - Wonderworld Park on Ramindra Road. This racing ground is specially built to host Formula Drift Thailand and will be the flagship racing ground of the country. While the Formula Drift Malaysia will be held at Malaysia Agro Exposition Park Serdang (MAEPS).
The competition will feature professional drifters from the region namely, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, the Philippines and Hong Kong. International guest drivers include "Mad Mike" Whiddett of New Zealand and 2001 D1 Japan Grand Prix champion Ryuji Miki.
David M. Feliciano will be using a Nissan Silvia S13 built from the ground up specifically for International competition standards. More adjustments and modifications were made in the past three weeks as the car had to be adjusted to the high level of grip that the new ultra high performance Goodyear tires has. Feliciano will be using Goodyear's Japan-made tires which include the Eagle Revspec RS-02, and Eagle RS Sport which will be available in Goodyear Racing Centers and the Eagle F1 Asymmetric launched late 2008.
"Goodyear Philippines is looking forward to sending the DMF Drift team to Thailand and Malaysia to represent the Philippines. With Goodyear's racing heritage, motorsports is in our blood and we are strongly committed to drifting which is the fastest growing motorsport in the country and in the ASEAN region. We look to David and the DMF Drift team to scout the international competition and upon returning to Manila help elevate the skill level of local drifters using the experience they will gain in these upcoming Goodyear sponsored events," said Gerry Alava, Goodyear Philippines Managing Director.
All of Team Goodyear's vehicles participating in the Formula Drift 2009 will be equipped with Goodyear's ultra high performance tires such as the Eagle Revspec RS-02, Eagle RS Sport and Eagle F1 Asymmetric, all with proven reputation for excellent grip and control for the best performance in international drift competitions.
