Grip Fest 2013: The first annual Grip Fest by Circuit Showdown and PDRF

Circuit Showdown and PDRF collaborated to bring the first annual Grip Fest that was held on August 3, 2013 at the Batangas Racing Circuit. Over 150 entries attended the event for a day’s worth of drag and circuit racing. The event was the sixth round of Circuit showdown where drivers faced a new track layout in BRC.
The 14-lap race excited the crowd where Grids A, B and C participants competed for the top positions. In Grid A, Rafael La O’barely won by a mere bumper from second placer Ferdie Sia with Miko Maristela tailing behind. Grid B had the only breakouts when Edward Pujol and Borek Fallorin were given 1 and 2 penalties respectively. In this division, Nino Garcia came in first with Alan Arguelles in second and Paul Perez in third. The wet Grid C race gave the drivers spin outs but Ton Ton Ramos managed to finish first with Adrian Lampano and Ike Palinar following for the second and third places respectively.
The Time Trial portion of the event featured the AMB Transponder Timing system. It gave the participants on the spot timing with pinpoint accuracy up to the thousandths of a second. For Bracket A, winners were Joby Tanseco, Ferdie Sia, and Marc Thomann. For Bracket B, Edward Pujol came in first with Sam Avila and Andres de Asis in second and third respectively. In Bracket C, Patrick Mendoza claimed the top spot followed by Jonnie Pineda and Rio Halili who was driving a GT86. Bracket D saw the first-place win of time trial newbie Marcus Timbol. He was followed by Kitz Ferrer and Gian Mark Santiaguel. Bracket E had Leo Candava come in first followed by Mark Dy in second and Alex Perez in third. In Bracket F, Edwin Rodriguez claimed the top spot followed by Dax Robles and MC Agapito.
Round 6 also featured the GT86 / BRZ Club of the Philippines in the very first special club event . Pauland Dumlao came in first, Rio Halili in second, and Victor Buensuceso in third.
Round 7 of the GT Radial Circuit Showdown at Batangas Racing Circuit will be on September 7, 2013.
