The Formula 1 silly season started early this year. Driver swaps and changes began even before the first race started. Sebastian Vettel is going to Aston Martin (currently Racing Point), Daniel Ricciardo to McLaren, heck, even Fernando Alonso will also be making his return to sport with Renault. These are just some of the driver changes, and the 2020 season is far from over.

Now, all eyes are on the Haas Formula 1 team. The American team has announced that both of their current drivers, Romain Grosjean and Kevin Magnussen, will be leaving Haas after the 2020 season. The most exciting part? Haas has not yet announced who their new driver lineup for the 2021 season will be.

“I want to extend my thanks to both Romain (Grosjean) and Kevin (Magnussen) for their hard work and commitment to Haas F1 Team over the past few seasons,” said Guenther Steiner, Team Principal of Haas F1 Team.

Grosjean has been with the Haas team since its Formula 1 debut in 2016. He scored the team’s first set of points during the season opener at the 2016 Australian Grand Prix with a 6th place finish. He later added to it with a 5th place score in Bahrain. Magnussen, on the other hand, joined the Haas roster in 2017. There, he scored a career-high ninth place in the Drivers’ Championship. Together, they helped delivered Haas best finish in the Constructors’ Championship – fifth overall during the 2018 season.

At the moment, they have yet to announce who will replace both Grosjean and Magnussen for their driver lineup in 2021. Speculations will arise as to who will Haas choose. At the moment, there are several candidates. One of them could be Nico Hulkenberg, who has substituted for drivers throughout the 2020 season. Another candidate is Sergio Perez, who leaves Racing Point by the end of the year.
