In Formula 1, it is all about which team has the fastest car and the best driver. At the same time though, it doesn’t hurt to have the coolest livery as well. And for 2019, it seems like Red Bull Racing has one of the best looking livery thus far among the rest of its competitors. Aside from the cool new livery though, they have also paired with a new engine supplier for 2019 – Honda – in a bid to return to their championship winning ways.
Called the RB15, Red Bull’s 2019 challenger was unveiled at Silverstone with Max Verstappen being the first driver to get behind the wheel. It is the first Honda-powered model to be used by Red Bull. The team parted ways with its previous engine supplier Renault, at the end of the 2018 season. Unlike Mercedes, Red Bull did not provide much information regarding changes made to the RB15, but it will have adhere with the new aerodynamic regulations.
Red Bull first saw the progress in Honda when they partnered with their junior team Toro Rosso last year and managed to finished 9th in the constructor’s championship. The team believes that Honda will be able to make the push required to bring them back to being a title contender once more.
Last year, Red Bull managed to finish 3rd in the constructor’s championship winning four races in the season. Max Verstappen managed to finish fourth in the driver’s title and was just 2 points behind Kimi Raikkonen in the standings. For 2019, Pierre Gasly will be joining Verstappen as replacement for Daniel Riccardo who has since joined Renault.
With a new car, new driver’s lineup and new power plant provider, will this be the season Red Bull manages to win back the title? We will have to find out once the pre-season testing starts later this year.
