Jaguar to join 2016-17 Formula E season
Jaguar will return to motorsport with a new Formula E contender

Jaguar is set to return to global motorsport as the company announced that they will join in the 2016-17 Formula E season as a manufacturer with its own team. Jaguar will replace the outgoing Trulli team for the 2016-17 season.
This news was confirmed by Group Engineering Director of Jaguar Land Rover Nick Rogers.
"I am proud to announce Jaguar's return to racing with an entry into the innovative FIA Formula E championship. Electric vehicles will absolutely play a role in Jaguar Land Rover's future product portfolio and Formula E will give us a unique opportunity to further our development of electrification technologies,” said Rogers.
For its upcoming Formula E campaign, Jaguar said that Williams Advanced Engineering will be its technical partner. With that, Williams is expected to provide extensive motorsport knowledge to the Jaguar Formula E team.
Jaguar Land Rover has a long term relationship with Williams, who partnered with Jaguar on the development of the C-X75 plug-in hybrid concept car.

Formula E Chief Executive Officer Alejandro Agag said,"we are delighted to welcome Jaguar into Formula E. Jaguar is a brand with a rich sporting heritage and the fact that it is returning to global motorsport with Formula E is a huge endorsement of the championship and its ability to influence the development of electric cars.”
As a review, Jaguar has not been visible in global motorsport since leaving Formula One in 2004.
More details on Jaguar’s return to racing including team presentation, drivers and partners will be released in the run-up to Formula E's third season.
