K-Pop superstars BTS are Formula E’s newest ambassadors
Formula E announces K-Pop superstar group BTS as newest ambassadors

There’s no doubt South Korea is slowly taking over the world through K-Pop. No matter where you go, there will always be fans (and haters) of K-Pop and the numerous Korean bands and singers. One of the most popular (not to mention the biggest) K-Pop superstar group today is BTS. Recently, the boy band has become the latest Formula E ambassadors in an effort to raise climate change awareness.
If you’re wondering why a huge K-Pop group would suddenly team up with Formula E, well we’re wondering too. But, it does make sense considering the electric open-wheel series will be making its South Korean ePrix debut this season. Both BTS and Formula E hope to inspire the next generation as well as millions of fans all over the world to embrace clean energy and drive electric vehicles in the future.
Aside from helping spread awareness about climate change and electric vehicles, Formula E will undoubtedly benefit from this partnership as well. BTS garnered over 60 million listeners and 3 billion streams across 79 countries on Spotify this 2019 alone. Furthermore, they also have over 90 million combined followers across their social media accounts. Not to mention the South Korean group has a huge die-hard fanbase as well. As a result, K-Pop fans will likely tune in to follow the various Formula E races being held across the world.
Formula E’s South Korean ePrix will take place on May 3, 2020 in Seoul. The bespoke city circuit takes in some of Seoul’s best sights with a section of track housed inside the Olympic Stadium and winding its way around the Jamsil Sports Complex. South Korean national public broadcaster KBS will also be airing the inaugural race.
