The 2015 Nissan GT Academy Philippines Live Recruitment event was in held simultaneous venues, Alabang Town Center and Eastwood Mall last weekend. Early standings leader Terence Lallave reclaimed the top spot with a new best laptime of 1:02.347 as other participants start catching up as well.
Initially setting the top time of 1:02.358 was Cameron Jordan Padillo, who held on the lead briefly at the Eastwood Mall event until Lallave closed in with exactly the same laptime as the previous weekend of 1:02.437 and 1:02.396 later in the day. Unsatisfied with his performance, he went back the next day to set the record lap of 1:02.347.
Former leader Jan Millard Lacuna managed to set a 1:02.418 laptime, ten-hundreths of a second slower than his personal best of 1:02.408.
New participants in the top 10 are Michael Vincent Yap, Daryl Brady, Rio Halili, Francisco Rigelo Adriano, who clocked in within 1:02.6 times; Luis Antonio Moreno's 1:02.742 lands in the final 10th position of the overall leaderboard.
By the end of the weekend, the overall leaderboard was filled with nearly all one minute two second laptimes with the exception of the 20th placed driver who's qualification for the national championship hangs in the balance.
The Nissan GT Academy PH Live Recruitment events will be moving down to Visayas and Mindanao later this month, we should expect to see more changes in the leaderboard before it returns to Manila for the final recruitment weekend in June.
The program which headlines “Racing Driver Wanted”, aims to possibly send a Filipino driver to the Dubai 24-Hour Endurance Race under the Nismo GT Academy fielded team. Composed of the top Gran Turismo gamers turned into real race drivers, the program will select the best of Asia, Europe and the rest of the world.
