Porsche Motorsport has revealed its newest race machine, the Cayman GT4 Clubsport as an entry level motor racing program.
The Cayman GT4 Clubsport is powered by the same 3.8-liter flat 6 rated at 385 PS found in the road going model, but is fitted with a 6-speed DSG gearbox with racing steering wheel mounted-paddles instead of the six-speed manual. It also comes with a mechanical rear differential.

Weighing in at a mere 1,300 kg, the Cayman GT4 Clubsport gets an interior stripdown, comes with a welded-in rollcage, racing bucket seat and 6-point safety harness, as standard. It inherits the lightweight spring-strut front suspension setup of the 911 GT3 Cup car for better roadholding. It also comes with race-spec brakes with 380 mm steel rotors.

The new Cayman GT4 Clubsport can be ordered from Porsche Motorsport in Weissach or from Porsche Motorsport North America for the North American market.
For 2016, it will be homologated for race series such as the Pirelli World Challenge, the Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge, the Pirelli GT3 Cup Trophy in the USA, the Ultra 94 GT3 Cup Challenge in Canada and for club racing of the Porsche Club of America as well as other race events on the club sport level across the globe.
