Filipino-Swiss GP2 driver Marlon Stockinger has been named as the official mentor and guest judge of the Nissan GT Academy Philippines.

Nissan PH President and Managing Director Antonio Zara said in a statement that Stockinger’s extensive racing experience will be “invaluable” to the GT Academy finalists.

“His (Stockinger) extensive racing experience and knowledge will be invaluable to the finalists in the Race Camp week in August, as they compete with the rest of Asia’s hopefuls in bringing home the honors of being the first Filipino GT Academy Asia champion,” said Zara.

Stockinger already garnered several racing titles and honors under his belt such as the Formula BMW Pacific 2008 Championships, the Senior Rotax Max World Finals 2007, the Asian Karting Championship 2006, Philippine Shell Super Karting Series 2002, among others. As of this writing, Stockinger is a competitor in the Renault World Series championship.
