McLaren gets multi-year partnership with Google
Google and Android branding to appear on the MCL36

McLaren's 2022 Formula One challenger, the MCL36, gets a new set of 18-inch “Chrome” wheels ahead of the season-opener in Bahrain. But hold it right there though, Lando Norris and Daniel Ricciardo aren't getting additional bling points.
The Chrome we're talking about is the Google Chrome icon. That's because McLaren Racing signed a multi-year deal with Google as an official partner of the McLaren Formula One Team and the McLaren MX Extreme E Team.
“We are absolutely delighted and proud to welcome Google to the McLaren Racing family. Google is a global leader in technology and has been a ground-breaking innovator in connecting people around the world. By integrating platforms like Android and Chrome across our operations, our team will be better supported to focus on driving performance. We’re looking forward to an exciting partnership that spans across Formula 1 and Extreme E”, says Zak Brown, CEO of McLaren Racing.

Throughout the 2022 F1 season, McLaren will get to use 5G-enabled Android devices and Chrome browser from Google to help achieve better on-track performance and streamlined race weekend operations.
Furthermore, Google and Android branding will appear on the engine and wheel covers of the McLaren Formula 1 car, as well as on the helmets and racing suits of both Lando Norris and Daniel Ricciardo.
The 2022 Formula One season is set to start under the lights in Bahrain this weekend. Here's to hoping the MCL36 drives faster than Google Chrome's loading time.
