McLaren's Carlos Sainz tipped to become next Ferrari driver
Carlos Sainz Jr. to be announced as Sebastian Vettel’s replacement in the coming days according to reports

While there might not be any live races going-on, there is still a lot of buzz going in the world of Formula 1. At the center of it all is the Scuderia Ferrari Formula 1 team, which recently announced that Sebastian Vettel will be leaving at the end of the 2020 season. This now raises the question of who will be driving with Charles Leclerc from 2021 onwards.
The rumor mill is running at full power, and some are speculating that it might be Daniel Riccardo who will get the coveted Ferrari seat from 2021. Renault, the team which Ricciardo currently drives for, has admitted that their driver might leave by the end of the year. As a result, he could be the new face of Ferrari. However, according to new reports, it might not be the case.
The driver widely regarded to be the replacement for Sebastian Vettel is Carlos Sainz... Junior.
According to Italy’s motorsport.com, Carlos Sainz will be officially announced the new Ferrari driver in the coming days. He is said to be a good choice as the partner of Leclerc considering he is still young at 25 years old. Stats-wise, he might be down when compared to Ricciardo having only one podium out of 102 race starts. However, that can be blamed on the struggling teams he has been with in the past: Toro Rosso and McLaren. Throughout his career, he has scored a total of 267 points.
As this is merely a speculative report at the moment, nothing is certain until we get word from either Ferrari or Sainz himself. What is certain though is that Ferrari is looking for a new driver to replace Vettel. More so, Vettel will also be looking for a new team starting the 2021 season.
With that, do you guys think Sainz should be the replacement at Ferrari? Or, should the more experienced Ricciardo be their choice of driver.
