Mick Schumacher to race in 2024 Le Mans 24 Hours
Mick Schumacher goes endurance racing with Alpine hypercar

Alpine, along with BMW and Lamborghini, is one of the three manufacturers joining the Hypercar class in the World Endurance Championship next year. But it's not just the French team that's coming to top-class endurance racing; they are bringing along a very familiar name in Formula One.

Mick Schumacher is making his endurance racing debut in 2024 with Alpine in a driver lineup that consists of Nicolas Lapierre, Mattheiu Vaxiviere, Charles Milesi, Ferdinand Habsburg, and Paul-Loup Chatin.

Apart from his stint in F1, Mick has also followed his father's footsteps in racing sports cars. Before becoming a 7-time World Champion in Formula One, Michael Schumacher competed in endurance racing with Sauber-Mercedes back in the Group C era.
Mick is currently on the sidelines as a reserve driver for Mercedes, but he will continue to fulfill his role in the F1 team while doing main driver duties with the new Alpine A424 LMDh race car next year.

The Alpine A424 LMDh car is based on an Oreca LMP2 chassis and is powered by a 3.4 liter, single-turbo V6 engine developed in conjunction with Mecachrome.
Alpine will announce the exact combination of drivers for their two hypercars along with the launch of their official livery in February 2024. Mick Schumacher, on the other hand, will make his endurance racing debut during the 2024 WEC Season's first race at Losail in Qatar on March 2.
