Motul PH driver Iñigo Anton leads 2025 F4 SEA Rookie Cup
Filipino teen Iñigo Anton has taken the lead in the F4 SEA Rookie Cup after a standout performance in Buriram, Thailand.

Hot on the heels of a stellar performance at the Chang International Circuit, Filipino racing prodigy Iñigo Anton has officially taken the lead in the F4 SEA Rookie Cup Championship. The Motul factory racer, who's been making waves in the motorsport scene, secured his best Formula 4 result yet with a dominant victory and an impressive second-place overall finish in Race 5 of the series. This challenging race unfolded under tricky, wet conditions.

Starting from third on the grid, Iñigo quickly found himself embroiled in a fierce contest with more experienced competitors. He skillfully navigated the pack, fighting his way to P1 before series leader Alex Sawer of Vietnam managed to overtake him on lap 3. Undeterred, Anton held onto second place, fending off relentless pressure from local Thai hero Ayrton Asdathorn and Australia's Seth Gilmore. His ability to maintain his position under such intense pressure underscored his adaptability and sheer determination, ultimately earning him his second overall podium of the year and solidifying his commanding lead in the Rookie Cup standings.

"We managed to get P2 halfway through the race, but from there, it was all about defense," Iñigo shared, brimming with excitement. "After intense pressure from the guys behind, we managed to hold on. A huge thank you to my team, Black Arts Racing, and my coach, Alex Yoong, for guiding me through my first wet race in Formula cars. It was a fun race, and I’m super happy with the results. Of course, a big thank you to all my sponsors, especially MOTUL Luzon-Infiniteserv, and Sir Charlie Ong, for giving me this incredible opportunity to race in Formula cars. It truly is a dream come true."
Looking ahead, Anton is already setting his sights on Round 3 of the F4 SEA series, slated for July on a street circuit in Bangsaen, Thailand. He's focused on maintaining his momentum and aims for another strong finish.

"My team and I are working hard to develop our setup," Iñigo revealed about his preparations. "I’m learning a lot, but I still have a lot to learn. Since it will be my first street race on a very unfamiliar track, it’s going to be quite a challenge for us, but we’ll continue to do our best."

Anton remains grateful for the steadfast support from his sponsors: Motul, Alpinestars Philippines, Yokohama Philippines, Blu Coffee Distributors, and Time Master Watches.
With the F4 SEA Rookie Cup Championship firmly in his sights, Anton is rapidly cementing his status as a rising star to watch on the international motorsport stage.
