According to a report by Autosport, Fernando Alonso has suggested that he would completely end his Formula One (F1) career as a McLaren-Honda driver. This will likely come after his contract expires at the end of the 2016 season.
Alonso told reporters ahead of the recently concluded Chinese Grand Prix that he does not consider to drive for another F1 team before he retires.
"I started with McLaren-Honda when I was three years old - a replica of my father; I will finish with McLaren-Honda, but the real one in Formula One," Alonso said.
He also added that he will end his involvement with the sport as a driver to close the loop.
Racing for fourteen years now, Alonso expressed that he has been "lucky" to win championships.
"I've been lucky to win championships and to win many grands prix. There are times when you arrive to a maturity and stage of mind that has different priorities in life," Alonso concluded.
