Report: Iran plans to build Formula One circuit
The Iranian government wants to build the world's most beautiful Formula One track
The Iranian government has revealed plans to build a Formula One (F1) circuit on the island of Qeshm, in the southern part of the country.
In a report by Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA), Iran's Head of the Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization, Masoud Soltanifar, announced plans to construct a racing circuit and build "the world's most beautiful Formula One destination."
Soltanifar also told IRNA that F1 has a "great future in Iran" due to the country's "young people with an increasing tendency for driving."
With this, the Middle East continues to be a popular region for F1 racing. To date, F1 races are being held in other Middle East countries such as Bahrain and Abu Dhabi.
